Abstract

This paper summarizes the scientific and technological basis for removing dissolved and heat-stable salts from methyldiethanolamine solutions using polymer composite membranes. The accumulation of chlorides, sulfates, carbonates and metal ions decreases absorption efficiency and increases viscosity, foaming and corrosion risk. Nanofiltration and reverse-osmosis membrane regeneration is characterized by high selectivity, lower energy demand, modular design and environmental compatibility.
